Our medical device client is seeking an Associate Category Manager with previous medical device experience to join their team.
 

Location: Remote (EST or CST)
Pay: $24-$27 per hour
Type: Temporary (6 months)

Responsibilities

• Identify cost reduction opportunities in partnership with category managers, internal stakeholders and suppliers to meet year over year cost targets.
• Develops a knowledge of assigned commodities, global supply markets, new technologies, pricing trends and of suppliers and their capabilities.
• Assists in developing, negotiating and execution of contracts/agreements with suppliers that minimize TCO, improve quality and assure on-time delivery. Administers performance against contract and recommends a cause of action to rectify discrepancies.
• Identify insourcing and outsourcing opportunities in partnership with category managers and OPS manufacturing strategy and support the make/buy analysis process..
• Lead supplier relationship management for strategic suppliers within category becoming a subject matter expert in this functional area and provide commodity knowledge to internal customers on spend data, supply base, industry trends and market conditions such as labor, raw materials, government and supply issues and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related.
• Supply management experience required.
• Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration required.
• Experience with strategic sourcing and supplier development is highly preferred.
• Medical device experience is preferred.
