Growing Food Manufacturer in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned Food Safety Quality Manager to lead quality audits, oversee the laboratory operations & facilitate equipment set-up. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Salary range: $100-130K
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations, emphasizing precision and efficiency, while implementing and enforcing quality control standards.
- Ensure adherence to FDA regulations.
- Manage the review process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and manage a robust supplier approval process, establishing selection criteria based on quality, safety, and compliance.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain/Sourcing teams to foster continuous improvement.
- Facilitate communication between QA and innovation/R&D teams, providing regulatory insights for new product development.
- Lead the establishment of an in-house microbiological laboratory, including equipment procurement, SOP development, and team training.
- Mentor the QC team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed records on quality metrics, supplier assessments, compliance issues, and laboratory development.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of QC management experience in the food industry, with expertise in FDA compliance, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and laboratory management.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
