Growing Food Manufacturer in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned Food Safety Quality Manager to lead quality audits, oversee the laboratory operations & facilitate equipment set-up. This is a direct hire opportunity. 

Salary range: $100-130K

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations, emphasizing precision and efficiency, while implementing and enforcing quality control standards.
  • Ensure adherence to FDA regulations. 
  • Manage the review process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and manage a robust supplier approval process, establishing selection criteria based on quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain/Sourcing teams to foster continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication between QA and innovation/R&D teams, providing regulatory insights for new product development.
  • Lead the establishment of an in-house microbiological laboratory, including equipment procurement, SOP development, and team training.
  • Mentor the QC team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records on quality metrics, supplier assessments, compliance issues, and laboratory development.

Job Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of QC management experience in the food industry, with expertise in FDA compliance, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and laboratory management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
