Our client, a leader of the chemical manufacturing industry, is looking for an Environmental Specialist.

Role Summary: The Environmental Specialist ensures compliance with all environmental regulations and standards, maintaining a thorough understanding of EPA-administered permits and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance and drive growth of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Manage chemical reporting data, site compliance with the US EPA TSCA Chemical Substance Inventory, and RCRA Hazardous Waste program.
  • Oversee air permit and emissions reporting, PFAS compliance, and NPDES compliance.
  • Handle chemical inventory, environmental data sheets, and ensure environmental agency site visits and inspections.
  • Represent Environmental interests in change management activities and capital projects.
  • Develop and execute regulatory training programs and support product stewardship compliance with global regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in an environmental role within a manufacturing organization, particularly in chemical manufacturing.
  • In-depth understanding of EPA regulations and ability to interpret state and federal regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Professional certifications, ISO experience, and Risk Management Plan (RMP) knowledge are desirable.
