Seeking an Animal Facility Supervisor of Technical Operations for our client, the birthplace for countless breakthroughs and dramatic firsts in medicine. This is a great opportunity to join a highly-ranked team devoted to cutting-edge research medicine.

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Pay: $78,000-$83,000 per year
Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing work order submissions and the process flow between facilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment essential for the operation of animal facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Control procedures in cage wash operations.
  • Manage lighting systems and make adjustments based on researcher requests.
  • Supervise the pest control program and collaborate with the vendor on pest eradication efforts.
  • Ensure a supply of clean, potable water for all animals in the facilities.
  • Assess facility and equipment needs, directing the ordering of services and maintenance as required.
  • Oversee the procurement and delivery of equipment to the animal facility.
  • Review and update policies and procedures to maintain accreditation and compliance with federal regulations, as directed by the Director.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to advise investigators and staff on procedural issues.
  • Provide assistance for internal and external audits, site visits, and inspections.
  • Conduct assessments and offer recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Technical Operations areas.


Qualifications

  • High School/GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • CMAR or LATG certification (AALAS) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in managing regulated facility operations, equipment maintenance, and staff.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an AAALAC-accredited lab animal facility preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory processes and audits preferred.
