Research Scientist II
Responsibilities
- Perform characterization of raw materials and hydrogel polymers using chemical and physical characterization techniques.
- Assist senior scientists to develop new analytical methods
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of polymer samples to support vision care research and development projects.
- Design and execute experiments to for materials characterization, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability of results.
- Validate analytical methods including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and other relevant techniques.
- Interpret and analyze experimental data and present findings to internal customers.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Stay up to date on developments within their field through methods such as reading academic journals, attending training programs and attending conferences within their field.
- Masters or Bachelors in analytical chemistry, chemistry, materials science or related scientific field (MS with 2+ yrs; BS with 5+ yrs).
- Hands-on experience in wet chemistry, spectroscopy analysis, or separation science ( such as HPLC, or GC etc.)
