Our client is seeking a proactive, adaptable, and hands-on Facilities Manager to lead daily operations and help scale our fast-growing site. This is a key role that blends operational expertise with creative problem solving to keep our workplace safe, efficient, and well-maintained. You'll play a vital part in supporting our team’s productivity, building vendor relationships, and establishing reliable systems as we grow.

Pay Range: $45-49/hr (Equivalent to ~$100K annually)
Location: Onsite – Wake County, NC
Type: Contract with potential for full-time hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all facilities-related matters, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations, working both independently and with external vendors to maintain smooth, safe, and compliant workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with Office Management and Lab Operations to uphold safety, security, and compliance standards.
  • Create and manage preventative maintenance programs and standards for office and facility upkeep.
  • Lead vendor selection and management, including overseeing service agreements and running RFP processes as needed.
  • Support site logistics by developing procedures for shipping/receiving, storage, and asset management.
  • Build and continuously improve SOPs and processes related to facility operations.
  • Assist with special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in high-growth or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Proven track record in vendor management, including negotiation and performance oversight.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and resource planning.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, life safety systems, lighting, and general building maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Team player who’s comfortable jumping in wherever needed—including occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Experience in gene therapy, biologics, or GMP manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
