Join our team as an Engineering Fabrication Mechanic and become the go-to problem solver for our packaging lines! This hands-on role offers variety every day, from fabricating and repairing equipment to troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Director to improve line efficiency, support plant initiatives, and implement creative solutions that make a real impact.

Pay: $35-$40/hr
Schedule: M-F 9a-5p (flexibility as needed)
Type of Job: Contract 6 months w/ possibility for permanent opportunity
Location: Hodgkins, IL

Engineering Fabrication Mechanic Daily Tasks: What you will do:
  • Improve packaging line uptime, staffing efficiency, and line speeds
  • Support plant initiatives through process improvements on existing packaging equipment
  • Fabricate and repair machine parts, including welding and light electrical work
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance
  • Ensure equipment remains in safe and reliable operating condition
  • Recommend spare parts and improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and ease of operation
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members on daily activities
  • Follow all company safety policies, SOPs, and GMP standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager


Engineering Fabrication Mechanic Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Strong ability to work independently with hands-on experience on packaging equipment and conveyors, including fillers, cappers, labelers, and bundlers
  • Basic mechanical fabrication skills; welding experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and pneumatic system troubleshooting
  • Understanding of electrical systems and control logic, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
