Our client is a global, research-driven pharmaceutical manufacturer focusing on treatment options for diseases and conditions for which there is no satisfactory treatment option to date. The company is looking for a Laboratory Operations Assistant to assist their team!
 
Pay: $23-$24.50/hr
Schedule: 1st shift
Location: Athens, GA
Type of Job: Year an a half-long assignment with possibility of extending
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Laboratory Operations Manager in daily purchasing and systems management activities.
  • Ensure laboratories operate efficiently and in full compliance with local and corporate regulations.
  • Maintain operational excellence across all R&D laboratory activities in alignment with site SOPs and best practices.
  • Partner with internal teams to manage purchasing requests, track orders, and maintain budget oversight.
  • Assist with inventory control, vendor coordination, and procurement documentation.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives within laboratory operations.
  • Represent the lab operations team professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the Athens R&D site. 

Requirements:
•  Education: College degree preferred.
•  Experience:
  • Background in purchasing systems, procurement, or budget management preferred.
  • Experience in a laboratory or production environment preferred.
•  Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong multitasking ability and organizational skills; able to handle competing priorities effectively.
  • Customer service mindset with excellent interpersonal communication.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal colleagues and external consultants or experts.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and accountable approach to work.
  • Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
