CNC Mill Programmer / Setup / Machinist (Engineer I – Mechanical R&D Support)
2 Year contract - Conversion potentialPay: 35.00-50.00 DOE

Shift: 1st (6:00 A.M.–2:30 P.M.) • Overtime/Weekends: As needed
Seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist/Programmer to support Mechanical R&D builds for Ophthalmic Instrumentation. This role involves programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills (Okuma preferred) to produce precision prototype parts.
Responsibilities:

Program and operate CNC mills using Surfcam or Mastercam (10+ yrs exp., including surfacing).

Machine parts in stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and plastics.

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and GD&T drawings.

Maintain tight tolerances (typically +/–.002").

Perform complete setups and First Piece Inspections with minimal supervision.

Work directly with engineers on design modifications and first articles.
Qualifications:

10–15 years CNC machining experience; Okuma prototype experience preferred.

Strong balance of programming, setup, and machining skills.

High attention to detail, positive attitude, and flexibility to work overtime when needed.
