Chemical Operator

Type:
Contract-to-hire
Rate: $22 - $24/hr dependent on experience
Location: York County, SC

Summary:
The Chemical Operator is responsible for safely operating and monitoring chemical processing equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor process systems (reactors, distillation units, filters, pumps, centrifuges, etc.) according to standard procedures.

  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products.

  • Adjust controls, valves, and instruments to maintain proper temperature, pressure, and flow.

  • Record process data, equipment readings, and shift activity.

  • Troubleshoot and report equipment or process issues.

  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks.

  • Collect samples and verify product quality.

  • Operate forklifts and handle drums or containers safely.

  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental (HSEQ) requirements and wear appropriate PPE.

  • Support other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment preferred.
