R&D Laboratory Technician (Food Science)

Our team is excited to announce they are hiring for a Lab Technician for a contract assignment with the potential for extension. As a Lab Assistant, you will assist with technical aspects of R&D including bench top formulation, raw material replacement studies, competitive analysis, and collection of analytical data. You will not only work independently, but also within a team environment to product laboratory samples, gather data as needed, adhering to project timelines, and balancing workloads to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. This is a great opportunity to begin a career within a laboratory in the food science industry.
- Pay: $21/hr
- Terms: 3-6 month contract
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Always follows established safety and biohazard procedures and standard precautions.
- Follow basic laboratory policies
- Collection of ingredients, weighing, mixing, cooking, baking, measuring
- Cleaning
- Maintain strong documentation of activities, analytical results, & recipes
- Organizing & Packing Samples
- Perform analytical testing, projects, & activities as needed
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Scientific Discipline; Food Science major preferred.
- 1 years of industry experience within food manufacturing, or bakery laboratory.
- Ability to measure, mix and weigh ingredients.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory policies and safety guidelines
