One of our Food Manufacturing clients is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join their growing team! This is a direct hire opportunity. 

Shift: 2nd shift, 1pm start time.
(Plenty of overtime. Must be able to work weekends)
Pay rate range: $21-23/hr
Location: Pomona CA
Contract to Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise QA team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors to appropriately schedule staff based on production demands.
  • Assess shift requirements and allocate resources effectively to ensure coverage.
  • Monitor shift quality standards and promptly report any issues to QC Management.
  • Conduct training sessions on relevant programs, procedures, policies, and work instructions.
  • Perform quality inspections of raw materials, in-process items, and finished products through visual and physical checks.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and swabbing as required.
  • Perform daily allergen and GMP audits within production and warehouse areas.
  • Collect and accurately log production and processing samples.
  • Ensure non-conforming products are isolated and thoroughly documented.
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints as directed by management.
  • Support QC Supervisor/Manager with additional projects as assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and OSHA regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and Food Quality standards, including prompt reporting of any non-conformances.
  • Uphold all job safety requirements and promptly report any safety violations or concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year in a leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety programs and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, AIB, HACCP, GMP, Allergen Programs).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
