Medical Billing Specialist

Our client - a leading medical device company - is seeking a Reimbursement Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

Type: Contract (3-6 months only)

Location: Fairfield County, CT (100% ONSITE)

Rate: $38 - $45/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client and patient collections, including past-due follow-up and coordination with outside collection agencies

  • Conduct patient outreach via phone and email regarding billing matters

  • Partner with clinics and internal teams to resolve outstanding client-billed accounts

  • Provide responsive customer support for patient and client billing inquiries

  • Post and reconcile payments, denials, and correspondence from all payment sources

  • Monitor accounts receivable, resolve claim denials, and follow up on unpaid or rejected claims

  • Research insurance eligibility issues, payer trends, and refund requests; prepare documentation for processing

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience

  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle or medical billing operations

  • Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, EOBs, CMS-1500, and insurance billing practices

  • Strong understanding of in-network vs. out-of-network claims and payer requirements

  • Familiarity with patient financial responsibility (copays, deductibles, coinsurance)

  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills

  • Proficient in MS Word with strong Excel skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively, follow direction, and maintain confidentiality (HIPAA, SOX)

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Successful completion of background check
