GMP Manufacturing Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a GMP Manufacturing Technician to join our driven research team within the Advanced Cellular Therapeutics (ACT) Facility. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment that supports cutting-edge clinical Phase 1 cellular therapy applications, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies.
As part of this collaborative team, you will contribute to the development and support of outstanding health sciences research programs, fostering innovation across basic, translational, mechanistic, and population research.
Pay: $31.25 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
Location: Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill, NC
About the Facility
The Facility is a GMP-compliant manufacturing facility focused on the expansion and manipulation of human cells for clinical use. In addition to patient-specific cell therapy products, the facility manufactures Master Cell Banks (MCBs) used in the production of clinical-grade gamma retroviral vectors for CAR T-cell clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities

Perform cell culture activities within an ISO 7 cleanroom environment

Work aseptically in a Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC)

Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to manufacture patient products

Execute cell counting and make informed manufacturing decisions to support product quality and timelines

Demonstrate sound judgment by knowing when to seek guidance or escalate questions during manufacturing processes

Assist with maintaining inventory and materials in cleanrooms and release spaces

Support a variety of manufacturing duties as needed

Lead or support validation projects related to manufacturing systems and processes
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (or foreign degree equivalent)

Three (3) or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Prior experience in GMP manufacturing, cell therapy, or regulated laboratory environments preferred

Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow regulated procedures
