Pay Rate Low: 35 | Pay Rate High: 40
Type: Contract to hire
Location: Roanoke, VA
Rate: $35-$40/hr (Flexible depending on experience)
Shift: 2nd and 3rd available

Position Summary
We are seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for our client – a leader in the beauty and personal care industry. This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of production and facility equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role supports daily plant operations by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance.


Duties:
  • Troubleshoot and repair filling and packaging equipment including motors, pumps, conveyors, ovens, heat shrink machines, and pneumatic systems
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on 120VAC, 480VAC, 24VDC, 3-phase systems, VFDs, DC drives, and basic instrumentation
  • Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components, wiring, and controls
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, PLC diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Provide basic PLC and controls troubleshooting support
  • Maintain facility systems such as compressed air, water, drains, doors, docks, and general building infrastructure
  • Perform basic pipe fitting and mechanical installation as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures including LOTO, arc-flash protection, and PPE requirements
  • Document work orders, repairs, and parts usage in CMMS/ERP systems
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and internal teams
  • Support continuous improvement, safety, and 5S initiatives

Requirements: 
  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3–7+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills

  • Experience using electrical testing equipment (multimeters, meggers, etc.)

  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and CMMS systems)

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed
