Job Title: Scientist II – Immuno-Oncology
Location: Fairfield County, CT
Pay rate: $39/hr. - $41/hr.
Employment Type: 1 year contract
Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist II to join an Immuno-Oncology research team. The successful candidate will contribute to cell line engineering and advanced cellular modeling efforts to support target identification and validation, accelerate drug candidate screening (small molecules and biologics), and help elucidate mechanisms of action. This role requires strong technical expertise in molecular biology, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to design, execute, and interpret complex experiments in a fast-paced research environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot molecular and cellular biology experiments to generate and validate engineered cell lines tailored to project needs
- Apply advanced molecular biology techniques to support target identification, validation, and drug screening efforts
- Perform genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 and other gene modification approaches
- Conduct aseptic mammalian cell culture, transfection, transduction, and cloning workflows
- Analyze and interpret experimental data; communicate findings clearly through presentations and written reports
- Collaborate cross-functionally to advance research projects and support decision-making
- Contribute to scientific publications, posters, and internal documentation
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Maintain accurate experimental records in compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines
- Perform all work in accordance with safety policies and laboratory best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 3+ years of relevant research experience, or
- Master’s degree in a related scientific discipline
- Industry experience preferred
- Strong foundation in molecular biology principles and laboratory research practices
- Hands-on experience with aseptic mammalian cell culture
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing
- Proficiency in genomic DNA extraction, RNA purification, PCR, RT-qPCR, and molecular cloning
- Experience with transfection, viral transduction, and Western blotting
- Experience designing multi-color flow cytometry panels, cell sorting, and data analysis using FlowJo (preferred)
- Background in immunology and/or viral vector construction (preferred)
- Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
