Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire | Estimated conversion at 6 months (earlier conversion possible based on performance)
Shift & Schedule 4x10 schedule, Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 2:00 AM. Fridays may require 10-hour shifts as needed. Weekends are rarely required.
Compensation $30.00 – $36.00+ per hour, commensurate with experience. 2nd shift differential of $0.50/hour included.
About the Role
This Maintenance Technician will support manufacturing operations by performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while collaborating with team members to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment. This position plays a key role in achieving plant productivity and safety goals.
Essential Functions
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues quickly and accurately, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve mechanical or electrical malfunctions.
- Coordinate with the MRO Buyer and maintenance planner to ensure availability of necessary parts and tools, helping to control inventory and reduce downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities including work orders, parts usage, and corrective actions within a CMMS system.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements during all maintenance tasks, conduct safety checks, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of equipment maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; candidates with a minimum of 1–3 years will be considered.
- 1–3 years of experience using a CMMS system for work order management and maintenance data recording.
- General mechanical aptitude is required.
- Electrical background is a strong plus.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, CMMS platforms, etc.).
- Industrial Maintenance or Electrical certifications are preferred but not required.
