We are working with a fast-growing biotech startup that focuses on advanced research in life sciences. They are looking for a Manufacturing Associate for their site in South San Francisco, CA!

Location: South San Francisco, CA
Job type: 6-month contract (chance of extension or conversion)
Schedule: M-F: 8am- 5pm, OT as needed
Pay rate: $25-$30/hr.

Position Overview
Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Associate to support day-to-day manufacturing operations in a fast-paced biotech environment. This role focuses on buffer formulation, material dispensing, and kitting activities to support production and commercial supply.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in GMP or regulated laboratory/manufacturing environments and is comfortable executing detailed procedures with precision and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and formulate buffers and reagents according to approved batch records and SOPs
  • Perform accurate material dispensing, weighing, and documentation in a controlled environment
  • Assemble production kits, ensuring proper component selection, labeling, and traceability
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with GMP standards
  • Support inventory management, including raw material staging and reconciliation
  • Maintain cleanroom organization and follow safety and contamination control procedures
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, QC, and Supply Chain teams

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related life sciences field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 1–3+ years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device manufacturing
  • Experience with buffer formulation and reagent preparation
  • Experience with dispensing and/or kitting in a controlled environment
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely
  • Experience working in a startup or scaling biotech environment
  • Experience with batch record documentation and ERP or inventory systems
