Job Summary:
The Sr. Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on optimizing facilities operations, including the maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. In addition, the position plays a critical role in enforcing safety standards and regulatory compliance across daily operations.

Pay rate: $73- $77/hr.
Job type: 6-month contract (possibility of extension or conversion)
Location: Holliston, MA

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive maintenance programs to enhance facility performance and reliability.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Conduct routine inspections and assessments to ensure systems operate efficiently and comply with industry standards.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazardous waste management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational and safety challenges while maintaining productivity.
  • Manage facility-related projects, including upgrades, repairs, and capital improvements, ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and facility management best practices.
  • Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to operational and safety procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and vendors, ensuring work meets company and safety standards.
  • Monitor facility performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in facilities engineering or maintenance management.
  • Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or large-scale facilities strongly preferred.
  • Facilities Management Expertise: Extensive experience managing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to design and optimize maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve performance.
  • Safety Focus: Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and contractor coordination for facility projects.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license and ability to respond to off-hours emergencies.
