POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician I to join our operations team. In this hands-on role, you will support the upkeep, servicing, and repair of facility infrastructure and production equipment within a regulated manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who enjoys varied technical work and takes pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant facilities.
Location: Onsite in Livermore, CA | Hours: M-F 6am-2:30pm | Type: 6-month contract to hire


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on facility systems and manufacturing equipment, including troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Support compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) applicable to cosmetic and pharmaceutical production environments.
  • Assist with operation and upkeep of utility systems such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Document maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner; maintain organized records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize equipment downtime and support uninterrupted production operations.
  • Identify and escalate potential facility or equipment issues, contributing to preventive maintenance planning.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to facilities management and operational efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in a relevant trade is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with practical experience in building systems maintenance, equipment repair, or a related technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
  • Basic proficiency with computer applications, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities; comfortable interacting with staff at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a systematic, hands-on approach to identifying and resolving problems.
  • Strong sense of ownership and personal accountability for assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing setting (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or related industry).
  • Familiarity with cGMP and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to personal care or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with boiler and chiller systems.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and microbiology laboratory principles.
  • Exposure to personal care or consumer goods manufacturing processes.
