We are seeking an Environmental Monitoring Specialist to join our driven research team. This is an amazing opportunity to work with a group that develops and supports a wide range of innovative health sciences research programs, including basic, translational, mechanistic, and population research.

In this role, you will oversee the environmental monitoring (EM) program within an Therapeutics Facility. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a sustainable EM program, ensuring compliance with GMP standards while supporting high-quality research and manufacturing operations.

Pay Rate: $36.06/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional weekend/holiday work as needed)

Terms: 1-year contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement a comprehensive environmental monitoring program, leveraging third-party vendor expertise and industry best practices
  • Develop monitoring schedules and ensure consistent execution of EM activities
  • Perform environmental monitoring testing, review results, and analyze data trends
  • Track, trend, and report environmental data; identify patterns and potential risks
  • Investigate environmental excursions and contamination events; support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Create, maintain, and update technical documentation and SOPs related to environmental monitoring
  • Train and educate technicians on aseptic techniques, gowning qualifications, and EM procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve program effectiveness
  • Provide regular reporting on environmental status and emerging trends to leadership

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), particularly in an academic or research-based manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently and drive process improvements with minimal oversight
Preferred:
  • 3+ years of experience in a GMP-regulated environment (additional experience may be considered for higher compensation)
  • Experience with environmental monitoring programs, aseptic processing, or cleanroom operations
