QC Chemist / Laboratory Technician (Entry-Level to Experienced)

Location: La Grange, IL area
Schedule: 1st Shift – Core Business Hours (Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: $24–$30/hour (DOE)
Employment Type: 6 month contract (potential for extension and/or conversion)


Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QCChemist / Laboratory Technician to join a dynamic analytical laboratory team. This role is open to a range of candidates—from recent graduates to experienced lab professionals or chemists—with a strong scientific foundation.

This position focuses on routine raw material testing using analytical instrumentation and standardized methods to support product quality and development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine testing and analysis of raw materials using established laboratory methods
  • Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation such as chromatography systems, mass spectrometers, and spectroscopic equipment
  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and solvents for testing
  • Analyze and interpret data, ensuring accuracy and consistency of results
  • Perform instrument calibration, routine maintenance, and quality control checks
  • Document test results, methodologies, and findings in detailed reports
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Assist with method validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams including QA, R&D, and production as needed
  • Support additional lab projects and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related scientific field required
  • Open to entry-level candidates; prior lab experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience with analytical techniques (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy, electrophoresis) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Notes

  • Candidates ranging from recent graduates to experienced lab technicians or chemists are encouraged to apply
  • Must be able to work standard daytime business hours
  • While not currently planned, any future permanent opportunities may be aligned with a 3rd shift schedule (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
