Job Summary
The Immunology & Respiratory Discovery Sciences team is seeking a highly motivated In Vitro Scientist to support the identification and development of transformational therapies for immune-mediated diseases. The successful candidate will collaborate within a global, matrixed team to design, develop, and execute in vitro assays focused on lymphocyte biology, contributing to target validation and drug discovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and execute in vitro assays to study lymphocyte (B cell and T cell) function and modulation
- Conduct experiments supporting target validation, compound profiling, and hit identification/validation
- Collaborate closely with project leaders and in vitro leads to deliver high-quality experimental data
- Troubleshoot assay performance and optimize protocols for robustness and reproducibility
- Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records, including electronic lab notebooks
- Analyze and interpret data using appropriate biological and statistical tools
- Present findings at project team and departmental meetings
- Share knowledge, protocols, and technical expertise within the team
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience developing and validating in vitro assays, particularly for immune cell function
- Hands-on experience working with B cells and T cells
- Proficiency in immune phenotyping and functional assays, including:
- Multicolor flow cytometry (10+ colors)
- Intracellular cytokine staining (ICS)
- ELISpot assays
- Cell proliferation assays
- Cytokine detection (ELISA, MSD)
- Experience analyzing data using tools such as Prism, FlowJo, OMIQ, and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation
