Schedule: 12hr Shifts until training is completed

This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to monitor and adjust complex chemical processes effectively.

Job Summary

The Chemical Operator is responsible for safely operating and monitoring chemical processing equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of process equipment, including reactors, distillation systems, filters, extractors, pumps, and centrifuges, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

  • Load and unload raw materials, intermediates, and finished products into and from processing equipment.

  • Set up, calibrate, and adjust process control instruments and monitoring devices.

  • Monitor chemical reactions and record changes in temperature, pressure, composition, and other physical or chemical properties.

  • Regulate valves and controls to maintain required operating conditions, including temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels.

  • Maintain detailed logs of production data, gauge readings, and equipment performance; communicate updates during shift handoffs.

  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on plant equipment.

  • Move drums and containers using appropriate material handling methods, including forklift operation.

  • Troubleshoot process deviations and equipment issues; document and report mechanical or operational concerns.

  • Collect samples and perform quality checks to ensure product meets plant standards.

  • Complete batch records and plant documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in required safety meetings and training sessions.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment preferred.
