Be a critical part of cutting-edge biomedical research! In this hands-on role, you’ll provide daily care, medical support, and expert husbandry for laboratory animals, ensuring their well-being while supporting vital scientific discoveries.
 
Schedule: Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu 7:30a-4pm (must be open to either schedule)
Type of Job: Contract role (4 months)
Location: Atlanta, GA

Laboratory Animal Technician Daily Tasks: What you will do:

• Provide daily care to laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, and cage cleaning.
• Maintain accurate medical and research records for all animals.
• Sanitize animal rooms, cages, and equipment to ensure a healthy environment.
• Operate vivarium and research-related equipment.
• Interpret medical orders, calculate pharmacologic doses, and administer medications.
• Conduct post-operative exams, evaluations, and data collection.
• Assist with transport, receipt, and shipment of animals.
• Review and evaluate medical records and research data for accuracy.

Laboratory Animal Technician Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED with ≥2 years lab animal or veterinary experience
• Ability to perform physical exams on various animal species.
• Ability to lift and handle more than 50 lbs routinely.
• Experience with husbandry for large animals, rodents, or in research settings is a plus.
